Karen McKenna appreciates numbers. In fact she thrives on them. As Director of Purchasing for national retailers Linens N Things and Jones Apparel Group, Karen developed and managed annual budgets of $60-75M. She has executed major cost savings plans including manufacture direct purchases for new and existing programs and has a career savings of $25-$30M. These savings were achieved through alternate specifications, value-added engineering, negotiations, improved supplier selection and the auction/bidding process.
Beginning her career as a math teacher in the New York City Parochial School System, Karen changed career direction to become a procurement specialist in the corporate world.
As a founding partner of CSbD Associates, Karen brings her expertise in the areas of procurement, inventory management, process development and problem solving.
Karen holds an MS in Mathematics from Manhattan College and belongs to the National Association of Purchasing Managers, the American Management Association and National Association of Female Executives.
From peaches to pillows and towels to tees, Gail Dietz brings over 25 years experience in space planning and design to CSbD Associates. Whether designing supermarkets, golf shops or specialty retail, Gail's design enthusiasm is reflected in every project.
A graduate of Moore College of Art & Design, Gail developed her design eye early. Sure, Barbie came with her own dream house but build that house out of Lego's or Lincoln Logs and the remodel possiblities are endless! Perhaps that's why Gail sees options. Her ability to see a project from different angles enables her to provide clients with multiple solutions. This good, better, best approach has proven successful in developing creative concepts that exceed client needs while maintaining or reducing established budget requirements.
Gail holds a BFA in Interior Design and is a member of The Retail Design Institute and National Trust for Historic Preservation.rvation.
